Archives and Art Storage

Here’s a sneak peek into the room where we carefully store the pieces in the Miné Okubo Collection not currently on public display at the Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties. In addition to these racks for canvases already stretched over frames, we also have several cabinets where her unstretched canvases are stored flat. In the background you can see some of the upright boxes housing the collection of Miné’s correspondence and other archival materials. This is truly a yet-untapped treasure trove for scholars of Asian American and Californian history and art.
